k3yword , in Windows: not even once

I just want to comment on this because it’s 2yrs old.

clearedtoland ,

I stared at it wondering if that was part of the screenshot. Is Lemmy even 2 years old?

k3yword ,

Apparently it was created in 2019?

bye_reddit , in A bit dramatic for something that can be dismissed with "Ok", don't you think?

It looks like a C++ error where you forgot a ; at the line end

catastrophic failure? meh, it is what it is

arandomthought , in A bit dramatic for something that can be dismissed with "Ok", don't you think?

Guess we’re in dire need of a “Well shit…” button.

r00ty Admin , in A bit dramatic for something that can be dismissed with "Ok", don't you think?

What would the other option be though "No, I don't believe in errors" ?

ExtraMedicated OP ,

If it were up to me, I’d say a catastrophic failure requires an “Oh Shit!” button.

r00ty Admin ,

Back in the early 2000's I had the windows error sound play Neo saying "Oh shit!" from the Matrix. After a while, it just got annoying though.

demonsword ,
@demonsword@lemmy.world avatar

you gave tourette’s to the poor computer

WolfhoundRO , in Lemmy

I’ve seen this on both Jerboa and Connect. And even just now

omgarm , in A bit dramatic for something that can be dismissed with "Ok", don't you think?

It’s because it’s a windows product and users have accepted these errors.

My favorite one is “There is an issue”

QuazarOmega , in non-deterministic finite automata being relatable

This is too advanced, where is my code monkey humor??

/s (but I still don’t know what those words together mean)

Napain OP ,

the joke is that it just sounds funny, like PHARDNESS

QuazarOmega ,

Ohh ok lmao, I thought the joke was something very technical

tim_0475 , in Github Copilot Knows How To Make Beans

Its not baked if you make it on the stove smh

MajinBlayze ,

It’s starting with baked beans though. If you bake them again they’ll be rebaked beans, which are completely different.

nyxerus , in 0.1 + 0.2

But why

MsFlammkuchen ,

Floating point arithmetic

Basically, every floating point number represents a range of numbers. Which can lead to small errors like this. It has also to do with trying to represent a decimal number in binary, which works fine for integers but not for rational numbers.

Napain OP , in non-deterministic finite automata being relatable

“This problem is log-space-reducible to the reachability problem.” xD

simonced , in Github Copilot Knows How To Make Beans

Lol, what is the knife for?

ExtraMedicated ,

In case any of those beans step out of line.

ggnoredo , in Lemmy

that’s Jerboa issue but probably because It received something from the server that it shouldn’t

Atemu ,
@Atemu@lemmy.ml avatar

No, the server gave a 502 instead of a JSON and Jerboa doesn’t handle that gracefully.

ggnoredo ,

Actually i was trying to say similar issue

KD_14 ,

Seems like the 4 apps I use all have the same issue though which makes me wonder if it’s something in Lemmy causing the issue (not the apps).

Atemu , (edited )
@Atemu@lemmy.ml avatar

Well, Lemmy shouldn’t 502 in the first place. That’s the root cause. The apps should handle that gracefully though, especially given how commonly Lemmy throws a 502.
