I am sick of these meme. Of course we know c is better than python on many aspects but python is also. Lets say you are building… I an continuing, I hope you are capable of continuing it by yourself. Everyone knows which is better for their particular needs, so just let these memes go. We can be more creative with memes

Marques Brownlee on YT

JackbyDev ,

Fortnite and Markass Brownlee

Jeroenvb ,

I used to watch him a lot as well, especially for the specific Linux content. I got a bit put off by some weirder ideas but mostly forgot about it. Which idea’s does he have now and which you particularly don’t see yourself in?

exu ,

I don’t remember any specific ideas but I got turned off by his political rants eventually.

This may be a hot take, but in my experience most FOSS believers are either very right or left politically.

jungekatz ,

Many ideas that would lead to me becoming someone they call an incel to begin with !

whats irc chat?

gallopingsnail ,
@gallopingsnail@lemmy.sdf.org avatar

Internet Relay Chat. Super old school, everyone connects to a server with their own clients. I think with modern encryption though it’s one of the more secure ways to chat as long as the server owner is trusted.

Tech conservative, apparently. Although fuck big tech, you can achieve the sake thing with decentralised federated services or blockchain (in some cases).

Tech conservative, because I use FreeBSD, Surf browser, IRC…

whats irc

substill ,

Old school group chat.

Cube6392 ,

Internet Relay Chat. Its one of the oldest internet protocols. You have an IRC server that hosts streams of conversations, and clients who connect to the server and post forth streams of conversation, and then the server just beams out all the conversations to everyone. When you join a room you don’t generally get to see history, so its very much an ephemeral chat room protocol. Its super stable and super easy as an administrator to set up

This is what I imagined programators did when i was a kid

Saigonauticon , in Early disappointment

Hm, I wonder if I could make these students more miserable by introducing a CPU that permits static operation, then clocking that with a true random number generator?

So now it has output that is deterministic from the standpoint of the CPU but nondeterministic to an outside observer. Probably wouldn’t affect the O(n) notation though, come to think of it. It would be funny though.
