Why does my compost pile not attract flies?

We have been composting for about 6 months now, and I’ve noticed that flies leave it alone. Crows will pick through it, and it’s got a ton of worms but no flies. I have flies in my yard, but they avoid the compost. I’m following guidelines on what I can and cannot put in it. Any ideas? Not that I want flies in it at all,...
