I have always liked open world games as a concept, but I’ll have a very bad sense of direction. So when er I play open world games I keep getting lost and frustrated. Eventually getting bored and dropping the game. I am curious how other people with bad sense of directioncope with this problem.
With the many Reddit style shitposts appearing, I’m wondering if there’s a way for users to block certain communities or servers. Sync for Reddit made doing this easy -blocking the noise was the only reason I could use Reddit....
The world is so detailed, I just want to know about it. Like… What’s the alien Zorg has as a pet and things like that. Are the movies really just kind of self-contained, or are they inspired/based on something? Are there maybe books set in the world?
We have Lemmy.world, Lemmy.ml, beehaw.org, I think even yiffit.net. If I log in using wefwef it asks me where I want to login. And when I make a new account using another instance, it says ”… Lemmy is federated, so you can interact with everything on lemmy.ml even if you’re registered on a different instance.“ So if...
How will Lemmy handle illegal content like drug dealing, child porn, snuff movies etc? On Reddit, the corporation is accountable so they will make an effort to ensure non of this exists on their platform. And they would face legal troubles if they failed to act....
I.e. stop receiving notifications when someone posts in thread? I can imagine it will get annoying if you just share a (not OC) meme and it gets popular, but you’re not really interested in comments to it?
Hello everyone! Long time redditor, first time poster to Lemmy.world. As I’m learning more about the Fediverse, I’m seeing there are several instances that seem to serve the same purpose. For example, Lemmy and Beehaw seem to be similar, yet they are still separate....
Lets say a 7.5 oz container of any size. What would be the best fry to appear to give people a lot of fry but actually giving them the least? Are there any container shapes that can help optimize this skimping?
A lot of movies, especially horror movies (I’m watching one now) depict blind people as not having pupils. But my understanding, based on blind people I’ve met, is that the problem is usually in the lens or the retina, and that they have pupils the same as everyone else. Are there actually blind people out there whose eyes...
Is it okay to set up two accounts for two instances on the same web browser? When I go to visit the first instance, i can see that account is logged in for that instance. So, that works. Then I direct myself to the another instance’s community/post, I can see the 2nd account is logged in for that instance. Would it make sense...
I do like large gatherings, but I don’t really do well meeting people and making friends in them. I find it too chaotic and difficult to “be myself” with so many people. I also feel there tends to be more shallow conversation in these settings making it great for banter and social energy but less great for connecting and...
Earlier today I was outside with my dogs when I heard a persistent and loud buzzing. Looked up and saw wasps had filled the sky above mine and my neighbors yard
