Is it though? Traditionally major artists had a core group of reporters that followed them. Swift is a Billionaire who carries a huge audience. It actually makes sense that she would get this level of attention.

They usually followed an entertainment beat in general. Following a single celebrity is not something a mainstream news outlet generally does. There could be a Beyonce reporter too for the same reasoning. There isn’t. There shouldn’t be.
