If drugs were legal and regulated there would be no incentive to try to make them in a daycare.

spacecowboy ,

You want to legalize fentanyl…?

getoffthedrugsdude ,

It’s legal in the US…

spacecowboy ,

That’s not what they meant and you know it. Don’t be a dick.

lingh0e ,

How is that person being a dick? You asked if fentanyl should be legalized, he answered your question by stating the fact fentanyl IS legally manufactured and distributed in the US.

getoffthedrugsdude ,

But it is legal? What was so dickish about pointing that out? Explain like I’m high.

afraid_of_zombies ,

To be crystal clear. I do not want some random drug lab making who the fuck knows what. I want something you can buy that has the same level of trackability and consistent quality as real medicine.

I want some form of FDA regulated low dose opioid available and the tax revenue from its sale to be used to fund addict support.

If this is what you want to put in your body I want you to have a safe-ish version that is fully understood in terms of chemistry. I also don’t want you to put that garbage in your body so I want to build a better world where you won’t feel the need to escape from it. Starting with safe usage sites and more funding for addiction recovery.

Legalize, regulate, tax, and discourage.

Chozo ,

Generally, I agree with this. But not with opioids. They are far more dangerous than most other types of drugs, for a litany of reasons. Even under a doctor's supervision, there is basically no "responsible" use of these drugs. Most people who become addicted to opiates do so after receiving them from a doctor in the first place.

If even doctors can't administer these drugs safely, then neither can Joe Schmoe trying to score a hit of fent.

I'm a recreational drug user. Admittedly an addict to some of them. So are many of my friends and family. I'll dabble in some coke or molly or LSD, but opiates are far, far past the line for me, and should be for any sane user.
