How slums in Delhi were flattened before the G20 summit

The demolitions started four months ago. Bulldozers visited Janta Camp on a hot morning in May and video footage of the demolition shows temporary houses made of tin sheets being razed to the ground as people who once called them home stand watching, some of them breaking down in tears.

If they didn’t finish by turning it into a parking lot, how will the rest of the G20 take them seriously?

These are the top 20 enemies of the climate we’re talking about here, you can’t pull punches like that.

Labour is cheap and lives of individuals, especially poor, have little to no value when there are two billions of them and government wants to please the elite foreign world leaders.

A more humane gov would have built cheap, alternative housing for the inhabitants in new location and moved them there (if by force) before demolishing their homes. But this is Modi, he doesn’t do nice.
