I just watched the documentary (joking, mostly) Purple Rain again a couple weeks ago and the Kid (Prince’s character) is definitely abusive to his love interest. He plays cruel pranks on her, gaslights her, and publicly humiliates her. But it’s all okay because he’s Prince and they’re probably in love.

Prince, controlling? Nooooo.

Jokes aside, the punching accusation is horrible. But if everyone else is going to say he was controlling and yelled at them, That’s kinda obvious.
