Why does anyone even imagine that might be an ok situation?
Humanity has wanted kings since the old testament. Christians don’t even care for the new testament epistles’ warnings of authoritarians. Similar themes predate the bible in other religious texts.
Humans have a comfort and scaling problem. Once the group gets too large immediate comfort becomes the highest priority. No one wants to think for themselves. They’d rather a king decide for them.
Today is no different. The US now decides between an shallow orange king or an intelligent blue queen. They both have the same goals and lead to the same end. It’s only a question of pace and marketing.
