Yeah one of the biggest complaints was that Hillary didn’t bother to campaign to people she thought were below her or not worth her attention. If you want someone’s vote, you have to speak to them in some way, and while certain aspects are innate, such as someone’s background, you also have to figure out how to represent people who don’t share your exact background. Just because you probably wouldn’t be friends or run in the same circles doesn’t mean you can’t try to figure out where someone is coming from and be willing to explain how you plan to address their needs as a public servant (even if you already were, but you’re using language or concepts they aren’t normally immersed in, or just haven’t stated so explicitly / on the record).
