Kamala Harris accused of "war crimes" as protests planned for DNC

Act Now to Stop War and End Racism, also known as ANSWER Coalition, told Newsweek that organizers are planning to demonstrate at the event where Harris will likely be named the Democratic nominee for the 2024 election.

They argue that the vice president’s role in the Biden administration ties her to “horrific war crimes” in the Middle East.

“We plan on mobilizing to join protests during the DNC to demand an end to the genocide in Gaza,” Walter Smolarek, the media coordinator for ANSWER Coalition, said. “We are joining with the coalition that has already been formed in Chicago to demonstrate. We believe it is just as important to protest now that Kamala Harris has replaced Joe Biden as the Democrats’ nominee.”

democracy is the worst form of government – except for all the others that have been tried.

We, all of us, as American citizens, are just as culpable for the terrible things our government does in our name.

We can try to hand-wave it away and be like “I don’t support that” but our purchases and our taxes do, whether we like it or not.

I am by no means a fan of Kamala Harris, former shitty cop, but dear fucking god it’s not like I’m being given loads of other options here.

So, while it’s good to hold their feet to the fire, it’s also… a little silly and hypocritical. Especially, as others have pointed out, since VP is mostly a do-nothing job.

Also, as much as they called it the Biden-Harris administration, I didn’t get the impression that Biden actually liked her or believed in her at all. They did photoshoots and will perform the bosom buddies in campaign events now, but all her jobs were jumping on grenades for him and she never got to claim any of the administration’s wins. That super-Zionist and stubborn old man Biden was just one undelivered objection from Harris away from changing his opinion seems fanciful.
