This plane is from the 60s. It’s unique because it has electromechanical systems and piston prop engines. These were replaced by IC circuits and turbo prop engines. It’s super cool and handles well. But, no one wants to own one because of the cost of keeping it running.
Guess: was already navigating to a restricted airfield; electromechanical failure of flight controls created a severe aviation problem, perhaps with a secondary failure as the pilot continued to compensate
