Yes, but her insurance company (I know everybody who uses them loves them, but fuck you, USAA) naturally fought it tooth and nail so it took a couple of years to get the money. By then, my credit was shot because I had been a poor college student who couldn't pay for the medical bills out of pocket. Great way to start adulthood--in debt with horrible credit, a crooked/stuffy nose, and a bum knee all because I went for a walk one day.
By the way, she also tried to fight her ticket for failure to yield to a pedestrian so I had to turn up to court and we went over the whole scenario that occurred. Her argument was that she didn't see me, in the middle of the intersection on a sunny day wearing bright orange, so it shouldn't count. Obviously that did not fly, so she had to pay her $67 ticket.
I will remember that woman's name until the day I die.
