Yep. He’s neoliberal and appropriately greedy and psychopathic about it, so he gets their rubber stamp of approval. He’s even good for soaking up blame, misdirecting attention and drawing people into a cult where believing blatantly untrue things is how you show your faith.

If he slipped and fell and woke up a progressive, they’d tear him apart with a class solidarity we can only dream of.
