“This won’t be back to business as usual for Boeing,” Whitaker vowed.

Funny, isn’t that what regulators promised last time with Boeing? Pretty sure we’re in this fucking mess because they went back to “business as usual.”

Our fucking regulators are toothless idiots.

The official, Mike Whitaker, said the FAA would not agree to any Boeing request to expand production of Max planes until the agency is satisfied that quality-control concerns have been addressed.

The Federal Aviation Administration relied heavily on Boeing employees to vouch for the safety of the Max and lacked the ability to effectively analyze much of what Boeing did share about the new plane, according to the report by a multiagency task force. The system of delegation is now being scrutinized by lawmakers in the wake of the tragedies.

So they’re just going to wait for Boeing to tell them everything’s fine like they did last time, huh? Bet they’re still busy “scrutinizing” the system of delegation while doing fuck-all about it.
