While I get that many EU countries have been enjoying a long peace dividend, maybe they should have actually taken the NATO 2% of GDP recommendation seriously. The US may be under a treaty obligation to defend other NATO members. But, that treaty may not be worth the paper it’s written on when the missiles actually start flying.
