I often usually post the chapters we use for my classes in case students haven’t bought the book yet. I also have a hard $60 limit for books that I use.
This meme was a lot funnier before the whole Assassin’s Creed debacle. Although it is funny seeing people get mad about it while trying not to sound racist lol.
I once had a class where, day one, the professor said something like, “If you don’t want to buy the book, that’s fine with me. I can’t tell you where to find a copy, but maybe one of your classmates can.” Someone raised their hand and started rattling off a few useful websites.
I had a stats professor who told us to not buy the book. He would print out hand outs and gave them to us every class. He was super nice. One time a girl brought her bunny to class because she had to give it medicine on a schedule and he made her do show and tell lol.
Though you could do an identical meme with Games Workshop and Blizzard. There were so many people back in the day that didn’t know Warhammer 40k had been around for over a decade when StarCraft released.
And then the same thing happened again when Dawn of War was released.
Yeah I was one those who grew up playing StarCraft and was in awe of how balanced the game races are and thought the game and lore was the first of its kind. It was only later that I learned of Warhammer 40k.
Not only Dune. GW ripped off so many franchises it made my head spin when I finally read the Foundation series by Asimov. Let’s just say the Mechanicum wasn’t an original idea.
