The Four Way Split was glorious chaos, and only the craftiest screenpeeker survived. You learned psychological warfare, trying to make everyone second guess which section was theirs.
Over/under should give you a wider field of vision, unless it’s some bullshit like COD Cold War where my gf and I go to shoot zombies together and it puts black bars around 20% of the screen and makes it feel cramped on a 70” tv.
Lego split screen did it well. side by side but if you move to some areas and other player does other things the vertical line starts to tilt and go horizontal, especially as you merge screens for co-op tasks
Funny, cause my wife found that kind of annoying for some reason. Iirc, it was optional though. (I ultimately had to solo most of the ones I had, but I’ll get back into it when my kids are older, haha)
I personally don’t buy many games anymore. Most of the games that I play are either half-life mods, TF2C , older valve games like DMC & DODS, or the original Quake & Doom games…
The game fucks with you. You start thinking you being the hero in the story. But you keep doing more and more fucked up shit, justifying it all because the main character is blended by his sense of justice…aaaaaand a pretty heavy psychosis.
One of the most well known parts for example: You know these cool levels in CoD, when you see the battlefield from above with an infrared camera and shoot at targets on the ground? You do something similar here too. Just to see later that you just burned a refugee camp to the ground with phosphorus bombs. You get to see the whole horrific mess you just orchestrated.
Your teammates also make a lot of comments that only make sense later, when you figure out that you have lost your mind and talked to people who aren’t there, etc. probably to cope with the shit you are doing.
You actually create a communist revolution by having a leftist demagogue convince a group of bored trust fund babies that they’re lives would be paradise if they only fundamentally change the government. The same demagogue goes to elite keyholders in the old government and promises power un the new government if they change sides. The revolution happens. Scores are settled, and many of those same trust fund babies are put against the wall, because the demagogue wants absolute political power, not a utopia for his supporters. The country is weakened, while political and civil rights are curtailed for the greater good
Ubisoft has been trash for a long time now. It’s a shame that they control some good IP, but the company’s too far gone to ever be trustworthy. Save your time and money and just play something else imo.
They know people are making a private server so revoked everyone’s license so that even when they finish it, everyone will have to pirate their own game to play it.
I thought they had on several occasions dropped games from the store because they had DRM. Which DRM titles does GOG still have?
Last game I paid good money for was on GOG. Everything added to my steam account in the last few years has either been part of a humble bundle or a freebie from somewhere.
You can also find some reports checking this thread - the post in question says Beat Hazard 2 won’t run after a clean offline install on a computer without internet. Not DRM per se, as that check only happens once and it creates a savefile
