I’m shopping for a new NVMe SSD drive for my laptop and with the second deciding factor being Linux compatibility, I’d looked up the names of specific drives in the source code of Linux and discovered that their controllers have quirks that have to be worked around....
A moment ago I unmounted my 1TB HDD with 400GB of content and I partition it into two different partitions, obviously keeping the space that was already occupied. I did because I don’t care if the content get corrupted, but after I did it everything is still working perfectly, when I thought everything would be corrupted....
My Logitech G Pro wireless does not work unless replugged at every boot. Is there any workaround/fix? Or is it a persistent bug? I’ve been experiencing this across multiple distros and wireless mice...
I have a budget PC and edifier r1280t bookshelf speakers. From day 1 of building my PC about 6 months ago, I was using fedora. I really want to use Wayland, but the lack of a Wayland-based KVM sharing tool is an absolute deal breaker for me. I tried so many of them, but none worked. Waynergy looks alright, but it’s only a client. rkvm didn’t work at all and I don’t remember the names of the other tools I tried. I know that Input Leap/Barrier has...

Like the window is trying...

I’m looking at picking up a used chromebook for my kid to use after installing a Linux OS on it. So I have two questions that are very related:...
Hi all I have a quick question. Is it better for my zsh shell to be in /usr/bin/zsh or /bin/zsh. I remember reading that one of them would mess up the whole system since zsh is not posix compliant. I believe that szh shouldn’t be set as the root shell. I now have it in /usr/bin/zsh, is that good? So now when I drop into a root...

I’m wondering that because most of the time it happens, my dell xps laptop isn’t under any sort of heavy load. Its strange. Idk know where to start or what commands would help you guys help me?...

All my applications scale perfectly fine (in that they just don’t change their scale factor when moving from monitor to monitor). But somehow lmms scales very weirdly. The main monitor shows the program way too large (like in the photo, that is fullscreen) and my side monitor shows the application in slightly too small scale...
I need to switch from KDE to xfce without losing my files, any advice?
