I watched a video by Chris Titus in which he encouraged everyone to install auto-cpufreq immediately since it does wonders for battery life on laptops....

I put my laptop into sleep by just closing the lid and sometimes after wake up the clock shows wrong time and date which results into web sites not loading until I change it back and then I also lose logins to my previously logged in websites and have to re-enter the logins....

What was the first ever distro you installed and used? For me, it was Mint as I seemed like the closest thing to Windows minus all the forced updates and chappy changes....

I downloaded the lastest available fedora xfce from dl.fedoraproject.org/pub/alt/live-respins/ to a 2014 macbook pro I’m using to test distros. Neither the live usb nor the installed OS recognize any interfaces where I am. However, ubuntu 23.10, linux mint 19 and macOS 14 all recognize available networks....

I recently acquired two used blade servers and a short rack to put them in. I’m planning to use one or the other as the replacement for a media server that died on me a bit ago. I have many nerdy friends who have been Linux users for ages. But most of them don’t know such a thing as Openwrt exists or have never bothered to give it a try. It’s a very fun piece of software to play with and can be extremely useful for routing traffic. Wondering why it isn’t more popular/widely used.
