At the moment I am using Debian Bookworm and I can setup/configure 100% of my setup automatically everything via Ansible. (Only thing left after the Ansible script is login to my online accounts/email which I would rather not automate.)...
The latest episode of the Fedora Podcast (going live in about half an hour), the team will be talking with the folks from Slimbook about the new Fedora Slimbook laptop, it’s a great chance to clear any doubts about it.
Hi guys! So I seem to have audio issues. Audio will mute for like 5 seconds every 20 seconds or so. It’s very annoying, as it can make you miss whole parts of dialog. It only happens on linux, and only on gaming, so I guess it means the amp/surround system is ok. I use the TV HDMI output for audio, as it gets redirected to the...
Question 1:...
I have a public SMB share mainly as a media dump. Everyone can read and write, without any auth - as intended. However, if I copy files via SSH (as a regular user, not the samba user), these files are of course owned by that user and thus not writable for the samba user - so I can’t touch these files via SMB....

Then, I reinstalled Arch, and now I’ve decided to try using Visual Studio Code again because I need it to learn programming. Unfortunately,...

I am using a Steam Deck with Mullvad VPN WireGuard. I am quite limited with the software I can install without having to reinstall on each update. On each reboot I have to manual turn on the Mullvad VPN and there is no kill-switch. I run the Steam Deck in desktop mode most of the time connected to a monitor....
What are the broader implications when it comes to access, security, vulnerabilities, etc?
Hi, Linux! I’ve been using Linux for many years now, but haven’t moved distros in awhile. I’m considering it now, and I really would like to migrate over all my customized system and software settings. So far, I am thinking of backing up everything that begins with a dot in my home folder, all of my systemd service files,...
Or do you not use one? If so why?
Hello Beautiful community!...
It seems like for at least a decade every application/framework has had their own paste buffer, and honestly I’m surprised this isn’t “just working” out of the box by now....
I am trying out a Clevo MZ41, pretty interesting machine. It is coreboot supported (Dasharo, in the future also Heads) which is exciting....
