Happy 30th Birthday “New Technology” File System! Thanks for 30 years of demonstrating Linux superiority with a gap that widens with every new kernel release 👍

So I’ve set up pop os, everything went smoothly. But I have a problem - My pc is set to turn screens off after 15 mins, also to lock itself. But when it does that, my monitors shut down for a second, then start again so I can see it’s locked, then after few seconds monitors are blank but not turned off, led indicator is...
Hello everybody,...
Hey all,...
Depthboot is a builder script that creates a bootable USB drive/SD-card that can be booted on any x86_64 Chromebook. It supports common Linux distributions(Pop!_OS, Ubuntu, Arch and Fedora) and a variety of the most popular desktop environments. Due to licensing restraints, Depthboot cannot be distributed as an iso. Instead, it...

Any ideas why, when I’m on live session of a distro, the wifi works just fine, but when I I install it the wifi has a red X over connections? Specifically this happened with Nobara and the reason I’m running Pop!_OS. I’d would love a fix though in case I want to distro hop, but still be able to install it.

Currently what’s the best way to create your “spin” or remix of a Linux distribution? It doesn’t matter which distribution it uses as a base. I just want to be able to 1.add and remove packages 2.be able to change deault settings easily.
I have a partition on a remote computer that I mount to my laptop via sshfs. That partition serves as network storage and thus has a lot of pictures and videos on it. But it does not have thumbnails for those. I have installed ffmpegthumbnailer, but that did not fix it. I’m on Ubuntu 23.04. Any ideas?
Could not find how to do it with qpdf or pdftk or even a gui tool....

Looking for a good, studio quality microphone that just works on Linux. Also wondering what software or hardware people are using for enhancing your voice.
It’s not really a big deal, but I am currently writing this using a linux kernel I compiled from source, which certainly feels like an accomplishment. The Arch Wiki has made the process fairly easy to follow. I just took the stock Arch Linux configuration without changes for now....
If so how is it? I'm heavily considering grabbing an M1 and trying it out if it's in a state where I can be productive....
