Osrs and WoW both run on Linux if you want something addictive lol. Bottles seems to work best for battle.net stuff.

bigmclargehuge , (edited ) in What about a linux phone that has a full Android OS sleeping in parallel? Like OnePlus Watch 2 that runs 2 OSs at the same time.
@bigmclargehuge@lemmy.world avatar

Some Android phones can already be dual booted with (in theory) any other UEFI compatible OS. There’s a whole guide on the PostmarketOS about setting up a dual boot environment.

I briefly tested PostmarketOS on a OnePlus 6T. The core functions seemed fine but overall it lacked functionality, so my plan was to dual boot with LineageOS (a degoogled android project) for the bits that really just want a true android environment to function properly, and PmOS for everything else I could manage. In the end I just wasn’t up for the process of setting up a dual boot, and went with just LineageOS. Been really happy with it so far, and will probably revisit dual booting when PmOS is more feature complete.

Edit, I suppose this doesn’t touch on the idea of running two separate OS’s on separate chips, and it does require a reboot to get the functionality of one OS or another, but besides that hiccup you’d get mostly the same functionality out of less complex hardware.

unknowing8343 OP ,

This is not dual booting in the classical way. Imagine your laptop had 2 processors, and you could be running Linux on one, while the other processor is dormant with Windows, and wakes up when you launch League Of Legends or something. But then, you minimize LoL and you are back on Linux.

some_guy , in looking for examples of countries whose governments, school system,health system, wjatever, use mostly GNU/Linux

I think India? I don’t have a source for this. It’s something I think I remember reading on a forum.

imAadesh ,

Nah, All of India’s govt system mostly run pirated Windows. The southern state of Kerala has switched to Linux though. Every 2-3 years or so, the central government announces switching to Linux and then forgets about it.

KaninchenSpeed , in Is there a way to add "Run as Sudo" to context menu like with Windows?

I’m assuming you’re using the nautilus file manager. I found this post in adding right click actions to nautilus: https://askubuntu.com/questions/210192/how-can-you-add-an-item-to-the-right-click-menu-in-nautilus-without-nautilus-ac#672553You could make a bash script like shown in the post and use polkit to open the password prompt and run a command as root.

12510198 , in Cannot use system tray widget Plasma 6

This happened to me too. I had to grab the box that comes up and resize it like I would with a normal window, mine glitched a lot when I tried it, try resizing it as far as you can, it will try and glitch back, but just keep fighting it until it becomes a usable size, then log out of Plasma and log back in, and then you can size it back down to a normal size. Hopefully there will be an official fix for this soon

foremanguy92_ OP ,

Since 30 minutes and around two reboots with a dinner between, the system tray seems to works fine, I don’t know where the issue start…

AAAAXY. It’s a really nerdy game where you are in a non-euclidian (escherian) space. I’ve already poured more than 30 hours into this game. It’s available on Linux as a Flatpak (recommended if you don’t know which to choose), an AppImage, or a native binary. divverent.github.io/aaaaxy (ps. it’s open-source)
