Some FOSS communities might benefit from a “link only to source” rule, i wonder if this will be published as a link to github with a descriptive title this will get upvoted.
It’s more than likely that your hardware doesn’t support OpenGL 4.2. While your system may be reporting that it’s using version 4.2, llvmpipe is a software implementation of OpenGL rather than a hardware implementation.
Looking at your paste bin you can see it’s using Core Profile & Compatibility Profile which means that it only supports the core features of OpenGL 4.2 and provides backward compatibility with older versions of OpenGL. If you want to use the compatibility profile, the highest version you can request is 3.0, however your hardware/driver probably only supports 3.0 as Core Profiles and to why you’re stuck with OpenGL 2.1.
Mm, too lazy to research but doubt that’s true. X.org is from the 80’s if I remember correctly while x.com was registered in the PayPal era (late 90’s); unless X.org just took a very long time to register that domain.
Xournal++ if you need to edit pdf, Rnote if you need to take notes (it has infinite canvas like onenote). You may also want to check Krita, it is primarily a drawing application, but can draw on pdfs as well (not very practical tho)
For PowerPoint, I guess you would be able to find something which suits your needs, with libreoffice, onlyoffice… And others.
However for my work, there is currently, no alternatives I know to Excel, because of Power Querry. There is also power Bi beeing extremely powerful without alternatives.
For personal use, I don’t need much of them so, whatever.
Python is a programming language, much harder to use than power Querry as power Querry does the programming. There are actions you can do in power Querry, and it will automatically created and adapted to the previous and next step in the M language, tho the next steps aren’t automatically changed if there is a breaking change.
Grafana not sure. I am working in accounting. Maybe I can talk to the person who set up power Bi, but not sure if it would be adapted. Currently the tool isn’t deployed to clients, but mostly ready for testing.
The trackpad by default on my Asus Tuf Gaming laptop works fine. I wouldn’t buy Apple products in general as they’re usually overpriced for their functionality.
Mb I’m weird, but I liked beamer. You can even use animated slide transitions with various degrees of horrendousness… Apparently, PDF supports that kinds of stuff ('cuz why wouldn’t it, I guess).
