Most very recent laptops no longer support S3 sleep which used to be the default for a long time. On my old laptop it allowed me to just close the lid in the evening and open it again in the morning, and it would only loose a negligible amount of charge during that time....
It’s really annoying, and I would be fine with constantly killing it, but stopping it from spawning would be best. The process is named cinnamon-close-dialogue
I’m considering to switch to Proxmox for my main PC, run a Windows VM on top and passthrough the GPU to play games. However, I heard anti-cheates aren’t that friendly to VMs. Had anyone tried this? Thanks.
Hi guys! Is there a way to get my KDE Neon to prefer aptX over ldac_HQ? If I understand it correctly, ldac seems to be a bit more unstable jumping over different bitrates when having interference, and aptX might be more stable? I’d like to try the difference, but not sure how to force Neon to work with the aptX codec with my...

I switched from Windows to Fedora last week and I’m monitoring the stats with Mangohud when playing games. I used to run HWinfo on 2nd monitor when using Windows 11....

I have a GeForce 210 GPU on an EndeavourOS computer. I use Noveau drivers, but some apps like Blender have a broken user interface, and KDE acts weird sometimes. I tried installing the proprietary NVIDIA drivers following the Archlinux wiki, but I did not have any display output at all. I also tried running the NVIDIA driver...
EDIT: So after all that, I was able to reinstall windows and download Macrium reflect + my backup. First time I tried to recover it, it failed for some reason, but the second time around I was able to restore it successfully. I’m now back where I started, thank you everyone!...

I have in my old laptop a dual boot setup of windows11 and zorin os. But I am interested in switching Zorin to OpenSUSE tumvleweed. How can I safely do it without losing the data?
Hi y’all! This may be a stupid question, but here it goes anyways: I’m thinking of trying to install Linux on a laptop that’s getting slow because of a bloated Windows install. I basically only use it for some internet browsing and 3D modelling (Fusion360) and slicing for my 3D printer (Cura). Is such software available...
Many may already know this offer from Sticker Mule, but you can get basic Unix swag really cheaply to stick on a laptop or water bottle....
Why hello there fellow tuxers. I hope I am not posting this in the wrong spot, I am still a little new to this type of social media....

What use to be the PPA that allowed Ubuntu users to use native .deb packages for Firefox has recently changed to the same meta package that forces installation of Snap and the Firefox snap package....
I found this ad from Personal Computer World (UK) in 1985. I think we all like their moto! Has anyone heard of this company? They don’t seem to be still around from an internet search I did. But people who worked there may have had an interesting career (hopefully!)
I get a lot of visual artifacts when first opening Chromium on Pop!_OS with a 12th gen intel Framework laptop. Relatedly, odd black outlines will appear around different elements around the OS occasionally. I believe I’m on the most recent drivers and such, is there some other configuration necessary to fix this bit of cruft?
Hello! I have a 2in1 reversible tablet with touchscreen and stylus, running fedora. My laptop runs EndeavourOS. both with wayland session....
