I have 2 different resolution monitors (2560x1440 and 1920x1080) and I dislike that my mouse gets stuck at the transition where the smaller display is not aligned with the bigger one. I use cursr to fix that but I can’t find an alternative that works on wayland and that’s pretty well the only thing stopping me from making...

I just want to share my notes for installing a Brother HL-L5210DW(T) printer via USB under Fedora Atomic 40 (Kinoite), in case it helps anyone else. This may work for other similar models too. I’ve included some background info at bottom if you’re interested....
I installed GNOME on my KDE fedora install some time ago not realizing it would litter my install with gnome apps. Wondering if there’s a safe and easy way to remove them. Everyone online seems to say that removing a DE risks uninstalling a lot of stuff and thought I should ask here to be sure....
What’s your favourite to use? Mine is Fish due to its ease of use and user friendly approach....
Hey, I wanna know your preferred laptops, used is better and to run Linux on it. Something with at least 16gb and 512 SSD is good. Budget range. Thank you!

I’m currently learning how to code (currently Python, then maybe JavaScript), but I’m not always around my desktop, and learning on my phone is not always an option (also, it can be quite cumbersome at times). Therefore, I’m looking into purchasing a laptop just for learning how to code and stuff....

I just bought a new computer. I’ll install fedora silverblue. Do I just need to copy the home directory? And crontab. What else do I need to move?
Having some trouble getting the drop down list to show any details....
Hi all, the private school I work at has a tonne of old windows 7/8 era desktops in a student library. The place really needs upgrades but they never seem to prioritise replacing these machines. Ive installed Linux on some older laptops of mine and was wondering if you all think it would be worth throwing a light Linux distro on...
I have a 2nd generation XP Pen Artist 13. It’s a great tablet and I’ve managed to make it work with my Steam Deck too....
Edit: Solved, while changing EDID make sure to remove the old module first and reinstall it with the new EDID...
I see lots of posts about KDE being able to sync the screen with LED backlit keyboards but other than saying that, no information on how to do it or what keyboards are compatible....
im on a dinit based system and want to start syncthing as a regular user service. currently, its running as root (which bugs me a lot, as it’s playing on the network) using the syncthing-dinit service located at /etc/dinit.d/syncthing. i know i can run it with a custom syncthing dinit service file. but, i just want to know how...
So a week ago I wiped my SSD and tried Kinoite and Bazzite. I switched mostly for a fresh Wayland experience with Plasma and also so that I don’t spend too much time tinkering to solve some minor issues ( well it didn’t go as expected)....
I am thinking to make the following tool, but wanted to get opinions before I embark on this journey....
As the title says, I’m trying to multiboot Fedora 40 and Ubuntu 24. The documentation and guides for this all seems pretty outdated through my searching and troubleshooting....

Git repos have lots of write protected files in the .git directory, sometimes hundreds, and the default rm my_project_managed_by_git will prompt before deleting each write protected file. So, to actually delete my project I have to do rm -rf my_project_managed_by_git....
