Does anyone actually like the default GNOME workflow?
I gave it a fair shot for about a year, using vanilla GNOME with no extensions. While I eventually became somewhat proficient, it’s just not good....

I am nearing the completion of RH124, and I am contemplating taking the exam to obtain a certification for my CV. I plan to schedule it for the end of the month (31st August), allowing me enough time to thoroughly grasp the material while still experiencing some time pressure....

Some projects only give you .tar.gz, what am I supposed to do with them? Is this what people call building from source? Am I supposed to move it to /opt and extract it in Debian based distros? Does this also work on Arch based ones?
The issue in the link already has a proposed solution (as far as I understand), but I don’t understand how I can “use” that. Can I just copy-pasta the code? Or is it more complicated?
Problems are related to where distrobox is stashing a clblas and openblas package. It’s on the base system too, further complicating searches. I’ve tried all kinds of stuff with no luck. I hate the massive find command’s obfuscated ancient API of a full sized ANSI language specification. Python or C is easier than that...

I’ve come across Red Hat allot lately and am wondering if I need to get studying. I’m an avid Ubuntu server user but don’t want to get stuck only knowing one distro. What is the way to go if i want to know as much as I can for use in real world situations.
Currently what’s the best way to create your “spin” or remix of a Linux distribution? It doesn’t matter which distribution it uses as a base. I just want to be able to 1.add and remove packages 2.be able to change deault settings easily.
The reality is that reliable backports of security fixes is expensive (partly because backports are hard in general). The older a distribution version is, generally the more work is required. To generalize somewhat, this work does not get done for free; someone has to pay for it....

I’m starting this off by saying that I’m looking for any type of reasonably advanced photo manipulation tool, that runs natively under Linux. It doesn’t have to be FOSS....
