How does

Message 1: it’s a good thing Biden stepped down, we need new leadership

Message 2: One candidate stepping down very often does not lead to a win for that side historically

lead to

Phoenix3875 , in Look you've just to got read the prologue that was a limited edition IHOP giveaway in 2015 and the story is awesome

Let me introduce you to The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya

leopold ,

The manga? Start with chapter one. The light novel? Start with chapter one. Only the anime made it needlessly confusing.

emergencyfood ,

What do you mean, needlessly confusing? The release order was genius. Opening with the movie screening showed exactly the kind of show it was. It also allowed the climax to be in the last episode of the season, while still having it happen in the middle chronologically (as Haruhi wanted).

But the second season was where KyoAni outdid themselves. It was an improvement on the first season. While the first season was great, the second was even better. Sometimes you see a series dip in quality in S2, but here it was the opposite - the quality improved. For the second season showed an uptick in the narrative. The first season had already pushed the limits of storytelling, but the second went further. While the first season was greatly enjoyable, the second was even more so. Perhaps the most ardent fans may try to quantify the quality, and say that it was, I don’t know, eight times better than the first.

How about the people who go the wrong way around because it is quicker

Cort ,

Or the old people who stop in the circle thinking they’re being polite by letting you go first

Corkyskog ,

There is a rotary in the next state over that have stop signs in the middle, and yields in the entry… think about that. It used to be one of the top 10 most dangerous rotaries in the world, probably still is.

Hugh_Jeggs ,

There are hundreds like that in Europe with traffic lights in the middle

But our average IQ is more that 23.4 so it doesn’t seem to be a problem

Hikermick , in Jesus take the wheel

Cleveland put roundabouts in an old neighborhood which is very compact. The circle is not only very small but there is nothing in the center and the curb is less jarring than your average speed bump. When they first opened they left orange barrels in the center so you could even tell it was a roundabout

ThatWeirdGuy1001 ,

Pretty sure it’s why animals fight when mating. If you’re not strong enough to keep your dick in and fight at the same time you don’t get to mate.

Snowclone ,

Inbreeding is a lot more common in other species, humans are the most closely related species on the planet we are VERY suseptible to incest and population collapse. If you look at species around you, like crows or ravens, you’ll find out they’re not just one kind, but multiple unique populations all around your area.

This is called parsing - your brain processing the speech sounds into meaning. That feeling of suddenly realizing what was said is your brain needing a little extra time to parse.

This can happen for lots of reasons. One time my sister in law was so grumpy that my brain struggled to parse what she was saying because the tone and words were so mismatched.

peopleproblems ,

Heh. Like a 90s dell computer analysing a string for certain characters.

Do people not know that Cuzco is a real city? As in the capital city of the Inca Empire?

It’s still there in Peru.

FlyingSquid OP ,
@FlyingSquid@lemmy.world avatar

I think you’ll find the actual city in Peru is more commonly spelled Cusco, whereas the emperor who lost his groove was named Cuzco.

Also, lighten up, it’s a shitpost.
