Haven’t played for a couple years, any major improvements/changes? Blueprints and automated construction?
Originally put it down after I realized it wasn’t scratching my “Factorio but in 3D” itch that i thought it would. Nothing wrong with the game it just wasn’t what I was looking for, it felt more like I was playing Subnautica or Fallout 4. Turns out that HEAVILY modded Space Engineers was what I was after.
Tried it a while back, thought it was really cool conceptually but it didn’t really scratch any itches for me so I put it down after a couple hours.
I did hear they’re adding an enemy that expands/progresses, that was something that seemed to be missing when I tried so I’m considering giving it another spin once that update drops and/or I stop fiending on Xenonauts 2.
I was going to do an origin character as a solo play-through and a custom character for a group play-through with my mates, but now I might do it the other way around… which means hours in the character creator! Ha.
Ever since the pandemic, I wanted a multiplayer skateboarding game where the social aspects of it are just as important as the mechanics so you can hang out with your friends and skate in a way that feels authentic to doing it in real life. Instead of having a plain multiplayer lobby, you could have an apartment you could decorate that you guys could hang out in before you pick the map. You'd be able to sit on your skateboard or chairs and benches to get out of the way-or also to be an obstacle if you wanted. It would also be pretty cool to edit a map in real-time by having some items be movable by the players, like kickers. The maps would vary between skateparks, street skate spots, and DIY spots that have been modified to be more skateable. There could be a couple NPCs you could skate with if you don't have any friends online, but they would be more predictable in how they behave. There could also be NPCs that are purely obstacles, as well.
I’m using the Quest 2 and loving it. I recently moved my router (a Netgear Orbi) into my office and I’ve been using AirLink instead of the tether and it’s actually working super well. Probably gonna shell out the cash for the Quest 3 when it comes out because I think the fresnel lenses are the biggest drawback of the Quest 2.
For games I’ve been playing Into the Radius, a heavily moded version of Skyrim VR, and Demeo. If you like the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series, Into the Radius is almost like an unofficial sequel and is soooooo immersive. Skyrim VR is worth the trouble of modding. Feels like a new game. Demeo is just a lot of fun to play with friends, but the amount of time it takes to play a full game usually kills my headset battery.
With all the classes, you need to engram to unlock it as a secondary class. If you don’t choose it as a starting class, you have to get the engram in game like you normally would.
The real question is why are you starting a new character? Why wouldn’t you just pick a new class and reroll the campaign? It scales to your power level, which is based on your class levels and your weapon levels. Picking a new class and an unleveled gun will feel like a new game but you won’t have to go find all the engrams again and you’ll have the benefit of your unlocked traits and interesting guns and stuff.
EDIT - Regarding spawning the blood moon, the technique I read was to spawn into a different zone and back again but NOT the Ward. Worked fine for me… just takes patience.
I mean, I've never really liked consoles, but it doesn't sound like the console itself is the issue here. Most of the indies I play on PC also have a PS port, so you should be able to find a lot of non-AAA and non-overhyped titles on the PS platform.
I suppose there's also the matter of weighing the prices too; for me I always need a pretty beefy PC to begin with so having a console is just additional expense for a worse experience, but that's for me. You might have to pay quite a bit more and get a lot more games for PC's cheaper games to break even on the decision to move.
