So I just started with the fediverse, I heard about it for years, but never did the real jump to go full in. For now I started with lemmy because it seems to be the easiest option. I wanted to do a small recap of tip, tricks and general usage flow....

Fediverse has emerged as the popular choice when people look for Twitter alternatives. Personally I found Mastodon was like the early days of Twitter, without half as much toxicity....

Liftoff, Connect, and Jerboa do not allow me to create communities on their apps. If they could then I would never need to resort to the desktop site ever again.

I wonder if the admins are using a k8s setup with CF? This way they have the CF protection and can spin up or down as needed when they get many requests. Thoughts anyone?

I've been on the Fediverse for a little while now, but I'm only getting into Lemmy now. I've noticed that it is very cumbersome to follow communities from other instances. You have to click on search, select "Communities", enter the name (but without the instance), find the correct one in the list if there's multiple and then...

Too many people are confusing the two. Whenever lemmy.ml or its devs do something stupid, people go “Lemmy is getting worse and worse,” or “I’m leaving Lemmy,” or worse, “I’m leaving for Beehaw.”...

Anyone well known who wants to speak out about what’s been happening on reddit? Louis Rossmann? Apollo dev? John Oliver (one can dream)… or maybe former Reddit mods who were kicked out?...

Hi. I got a new instance of Lemmy up on my server, but outgoing emails aren’t working with Gmail. I have a paid account with Gmail, and previously have used outgoing mail with other services(like phpbb and Mastodon), and they worked. If you can provide some help, that would be much appreciated. Thanks!
