This was born out of a couple of comments I left on peoples posts of them asking for a clear explanation of key fediverse concepts and them saying the explanations made things a lot clearer for them....

Sometimes I struggle to convey what continues to fascinate me about dezentraly organized social media - its like explaining to someone who never played Go why its awesome who never played it....

im still debating wether i start a peertube channel or not, and im no pro but we all have to start somewhere. ive aksed variouse family member si know if i should do some sort of video content creation. i was thinking gaming but there are so many genres im not sure plus i have school and im worried it might make my life more...

Hi, I’m fairly new to the fediverse. Is there any alternatives for Facebook marketplace out there?

Is there an app that allows me to use both Lemmy and Mastodon (and possibly other Fediverse programs?)

I just realized that none of the comments or posts I made in the last week from my instance are getting to lemmy.world....

It seems that self hosting, for oneself, a federated service, like Lemmy, would only serve to increase the traffic in the network, and not actually serve the purpose of load balancing between servers....

Would be cool if we can upload short videos to a peertube instance and embed them into posts rather than relying on reddit, YT, or Vimeo....
