I’ve seen the controversy where lemmy.world defederated from 2 piracy instances. So since there is no one big owner what is stopping someone creating a instance that host CP or other illegal stuff?...

I use Fedilab for PeerTube but every once in a while when i go to open the app, it shows that I am not logged in

By advantage I mean posts from those instances receiving more visibility than others on feeds that sort by score (active, hot, top)....

In my experience, once a community reaches certain size, it grows organically. But reaching that cricial mass is hard....

Many of us came from Reddit and are still exploring Lemmy by browsing “Everything” or “All”....

I found one post from 12 hours ago that describes the problem: lemmy.ml/post/2650814 - but that’s all I’ve seen. Content is way down on lemmy.ml with nothing coming in from .world...

I get the general gist, like email different instances can communicate with each other but beyond that I’m lost....

Sorry, I stopped using Reddit for way less than what people in the fediverse have done....
