On Mastodon, Followers-only posts are only visible to your followers – and to admins of any instances your followers on. But if you haven’t turned on “approve followes”, anybody who’s logged in to an instance you haven’t blocked can follow you and get access to your followers-only posts....
Today I learnt that at beehaw.org you don’t really have to break any instance/community rules to have your comments removed by the admin. This is a feature that as far as i know lemmy does not have, so it might be worth it to checkout and support piefed, it will probably be useful if there are certain topics that are really relevant to you and you want to develop in depth knowledge of.
ActivityPods is a wild project that’s bringing the architecture and data capabilities of Tim Berners-Lee’s Solid Protocol to the Fediverse. We dig in to what it is, how it works, and what’s currently possible with the framework.
In Germany there’s an app called “Jodel”, which is essentially like a localized reddit/lemmy. That means, you only see posts from people near you (the default is something like 10km, I think)....
Howdy! I'm thepaperpilot, and for the past few months I've been working on something I think the internet doesn’t have enough of right now—a comfy, human-first social media space without ads or corporate interference....
