How many of you understand that you can be on lemmy without bringing reddit here?

Every day I see another post on lemmy about how awful reddit is. As someone who migrated during the API fiasco, I don’t know why people want to bring the grifting here. Who cares of reddit banned you for promoting lemmy? Who cares about reddits constant enshittification? None of us are on reddit anymore for those exact reasons, stop bringing their simple-minded dipshittery here. We left to be done with reddit, not to watch the fire from our balconies.

Hrm, I dunno, why are you on the communities that are about reddit if you don’t want to see posts about reddit?

And mind you obviously some want to discuss reddit here. Hence they got communities.

Managing the content of your own feed is your responsibility. If people post off topic in communities, handle it with a report, not another post.

Bluntly, you are creating what you are complaining about. This thread is the most discussion about reddit I’ve seen in a week or more.

I’m going to be real with you. I use Voyager which looks like Apollo to me, so half the time I don’t realize I’m not on reddit. And frankly, I don’t care. I didn’t come here to avoid reddit content. I came here to avoid reddit client and company. If the content or conversation is interesting, I don’t give 2 craps where it’s from.

I’m on both sites, if so desired I can do favors for people on either one if they’re banned from the other one. They don’t need to lament that something is left undone.
