To me, the first should be ants, they’re practically everywhere and there’s a lot of them
For me, I’m nearly 40 and I really love Avatar the last Airbender, reading YA novels, and sometimes I make pasta with fun shapes, just because I can....
My ex from Norway mentioned how unusual it was that so many places and people here fly our flag (USA), so I was curious to hear what it’s like for others here on the fediverse.
I’ve contributed to the project for a few months and used it for over a year and I still don’t know the difference. I think I asked the maintainers once, but I forget the answer.
Not willing to give them ideas so fast....

I recently made a PR for default PFPs. I was thinking of using using a priority of user set pfp > instance default pfp > Lemmy lemming. Is this something people would actually want?...
Today I was made aware that beehaw.org blocked my entire instance. I would be ok if I simply could not write a post/comment in beehaw, that would be reasonable....
Something akin to /r/twoxchromosomes....
I’m currently struggling to find my home. I have an account here at lemmy.ml, where most of my posts are, and one at kbin....
What it says on the title. Mine was when I was 12 and I lived in a very haunted house which had some weird activity going on, like things moving out of place and pets freaking out. I was sitting in the computer, alone in the house, and suddenly I see a shadowy figure on the screen, just some meters away behind me, thinking was...
Serious question, as I‘ve barely seen any mention of Lemmy on Reddit. None of the Mod posts regarding the Blackout mentioned Lemmy as far as I‘m aware. Would it be against the TOS to start a coordinated promotion?
Title. Could be apps or websites.
I’m really enjoying lemmy. I think we’ve got some growing pains in UI/UX and we’re missing some key features (like community migration and actual redundancy). But how are we going to collectively pay for this? I saw an (unverified) post that Reddit received 400M dollars from ads last year. Lemmy isn’t going to be free....
First off, huge props. Lemmy seems to really nail the potential that early Reddit had, and having found some niche communities it seems like it actually won’t be impossible to build critical mass as a serious replacement. One feature im missing is a way to hide individual posts. I don’t want to block the user or the...
For me it feels like breaking up with someone after many years. At the same time, I feel a bit dirty mentioning the name in the post title.
If Reddit were to revert it’s changes to 3rd party apps would you stay on Lemmy or move back to Reddit?
I don’t mean to be pessimistic, bit since most subreddits are only going dark for a couple days, the site will basically be back to normal soon. I wonder how many users here are only here because of temporary outrage and not because they actually prefer Lemmy. I’m curious about people’s outlook on this situation....
Share some interesting websites…
I wanted to get a pulse check on how new members are finding the general experience/website. Is it more confusing than Reddit or are you finding the instance system a better way of doing things as it can give you more freedom of where you choose to create an account?...
it’s little annoying. is there same behavior on other web apps? i want to try them sometime but i better to know before trying them all.
I hate the damage that Apple seems to have done in this regard. I also hate it when apps hide features because “they’re for power users and regular users won’t understand them”....
