I realize I may be out of luck here, because Twitter/X seems to have locked out third-party apps real good. Still, my line of work still has many folks on Twitter/X, which makes it difficult for me to fully switch over to Mastodon, and I would love a client that could ease the pains that this social media limbo currently imposes...
I mean the functionality where it guesses what word you are trying to type, after seeing a few letters, or when you type by sliding your finger over the keyboard instead of pecking individual keys. I have all the custom dictionary and self-training stuff shut off on my old Android 7 phone (didn’t want to upload data to Google)...
I installed non google keyboard and voiceboard, apps I can use, but each time I turn the device off, I’m prompted to use google’s boards and asked to say something.
So, I’m aware of Syncthing for much of the media, which may help after getting things migrated, but I’m wondering if there may be something more like Clonezilla (or the like) for smartphones to more easily copy over apps & media in bulk....
I’ve just been through the far-too-many Lemmy apps I have installed, to see whether any support peeking/hold to preview, like Sync does. Is it the only one?
The translator is based on the Bergamot project (browser.mt) and making it work on Android involves installing their Firefox extension, which used to be the way the feature was implemented before it got merged natively into the browser on desktop....

I used to be a big Apple fan, so I have a good understanding of iOS, good iOS apps, etc, from years of Apple blogs, podcasts, etc. I have nowhere near the same level of understanding of Android. For instance, I was just watching a...
Hey. I am planning to buy the Xiaomi Mi 11, I found it for 300€ and I think there’s just not a better phone for this price range, but software is a problem. I want to install a custom ROM and that obviously means losing access to official camera and the full 108mp mode....
I have a radio app on my Nokia G21, buts its kinda shitty, hard to navigate cant record and clunky. Im looking for another FM radio apps, I only found ones that use the internet, and do not take the signal from the phones FM antenna, but from a server. Well it was a fun few days but beeper mini is down. Someone supposedly affiliated with the project said on reddit it was on Beeper’s end but people testing it say Apple has blocked something.
Does anyone know any call recorder that works well on Android 12? I have tried several but the one that seems to work the most is Cube ACR, which because Google changed the Android policies is no longer possible to work as it used to, and in my case I can hear my own voice in calls and not the other person’s, which in my use...
