After 3rd Gen I definitely won’t be going back to nest. Mine is completely incapable of connecting to Wi-Fi which means I can no longer schedule it or operate remotely.

I was an earlier adopter of nest and I while it was initially cool my next thermostat will be something with support for local control and better home assistant integration not tied to the cloud

Other than looks what would be the reason to upgrade? I already have an ecobee that has Alexia and I wish it didn’t. How can you improve a thermostat that can build schedules?

I’ve got an old Nest E that I love and has never given me trouble. I also have three of the room sensors around the house. I would never upgrade… Unless Google kills app control, which I expect them to do because that’s the Google way.
