I’ve got an old Nest E that I love and has never given me trouble. I also have three of the room sensors around the house. I would never upgrade… Unless Google kills app control, which I expect them to do because that’s the Google way.

After 3rd Gen I definitely won’t be going back to nest. Mine is completely incapable of connecting to Wi-Fi which means I can no longer schedule it or operate remotely.

Other than looks what would be the reason to upgrade? I already have an ecobee that has Alexia and I wish it didn’t. How can you improve a thermostat that can build schedules?

I was an earlier adopter of nest and I while it was initially cool my next thermostat will be something with support for local control and better home assistant integration not tied to the cloud
