Those seem like things that maybe it’d be a good idea to get from somewhere that isn’t Russia.
I remember poking around a while back when that story broke and discovering:
The Navi-Sailor package directly connects to radar and positioning systems, so there are external radios interfacing with it. That is, their behavior can depend on what they receive from an externally-accessible radio, even independent of any explicit datalink systems.
The supported maps by the Navi-Sailor package include formats specified to permit flagging map information as classified, including classification COSMIC (which is specifically used for information shared at NATO level that’s TOP SECRET-level and disclosure of which would be “gravely damaging to NATO”). Now maybe the German Navy does a really great job of restricting what information goes to the software, but I sure wouldn’t bet on it.

Hilarious for them to act like the Su-57 (Russia’s fifth gen option) is truly comparable to ether F-35 or China’s J-20. To my understanding, the Su-57 is highly optimized for dexterity and maneuverability in dogfighting, but that doesn’t mean shit when you’re dealing with the stealth, sensor, and range capabilities of an F-35 or J-20. It’s for this reason that some have referred to the Su-57 as a ‘4.5th gen’ fighter, as it lacks several of the stealth and sensor integration capabilities of its fifth gen peers.
Anyways, I doubt that the US is really worried about Russia’s offering here, but I’d bet they are very worried about China’s.
In my country the headline would go something like: Another sucessful attack by Ukraine. Multiple drones were shot down. Putin is furious. UKRAINI SLAVA!!!
I don’t have any insights, but from the artiicles I’ve read earlier I’d guess it’s more about taking him as a hostage to silence his son, a journalist writing about infosec and a person non-grata in Russia.
The SU tld is equal to what other countries know under the CC domain. No legitimate site uses that and I can’t say I’ve seen any SU link in ten+ years browsing ru-net. If that’s what they pinned on him, well, the level of fabrication is laughable. Unlike the fate of an old guy put into a joint over these stupid accusations.
Jfc. The cartels have way too much power, they are Mexico’s long embarrassment. Have to go after the banks that handle the money. They know where it’s coming from.
Yeah, they already throw in all the specifics of “senior” officials “from the capital city”, but attacks are still so common there that they have to add in “relatively”.
