I've been playing a lot of Against the Storm. A rougelite city builder.

It's in EA but 1.0 releases in like a week.

Jumped back in to Noita after a while away because a friend has been trying it out too. I've beaten Kolmisilmä a few times now, but I've still not managed to survive the climb back up to the surface yet. My wand building skills are alright, but not good enough to totally trivialise most enemies, and it's usually just a matter of time before I fuck up against something that will take very little time to kill me for it. Having a blast all the same though!

Fun fact: when learning some instruments (e.g. bowed instruments) you also number the fingers starting from your index (because you don’t play with the thumb)

Have finally. After about a year finished ac Valhalla origins and Odyssey. Manager to squeeze in onimusha the lady couple of days. I have AOE in the background but I should be playing dishonoured 2 as I have had it in my steam library for about 5 years and it’s now playable on GeForce now.

Once I get the motivation and time to play it I hopefully will get into it. Enjoyed the original but this just seems a bit dated, especially after finishing off ac origins.

After that I still have death stranding/ standing. It was a hard slog though

After playing a few story heavy games I’m now playing modded minecraft, so that I can watch a show on my second monitor. I’ve also started trying out Genshin Impact, mostly on mobile. It’s surprisingly fun so far!

Picked up Armored Core 6 after a little break, it’s been challenging and tough, but a lot of fun.

I literally did this the other day... to be fair, it was a list starting with the number zero.

Haaaaaang on is that why we start on 0…

DmMacniel ,

No. We count start at zero because the array already starts with an element of a specific size. Starting at 1 would always skip that initial element.

CanadaPlus , (edited )

You could have “empty arrays” in a language if you wanted. The real reason is that you start with an offset of zero as you read an array from memory at hardware level, and so this way address is just “start address + element size * element number”.

BorgDrone ,

No, we start counting at one. We start indexing at zero.

An array with one element has an element count of 1, and that element would be at index 0.

LaggyKar ,

This is how we end up with off-by-one errors

Because if you convert it back to binary, you have 0x0000 and that is one extra bit you can use instead of limiting your available values.

bobbyfiend , to memes in POV: Your paper doesn't quite meet the page requirement.

Professor here: do this all you want. It’s not a page requirement, it’s a word requirement. And it’s a maximum, not a minimum. You have some tasks to accomplish in 1,000 words or less. Anything more than 1,000 words gets deleted or (if in hardcopy) crossed out/torn off and thrown away. I grade what’s left.
