There is so much weird shit like that from the Bible (or the apocrypha). And so many people who eat it up.
“-im” is a Hebrew plural morpheme. The root “nephil” means something like bully or tyrant. Take from that what you will.
But, most of these crazies don’t care what the original text said. They read something that is a translation of a translation of a translation, and then they still think it is infallible, and plenty of ridiculous antics ensue. The understanding of Nephilim as angels or giants or whatever comes from one particular game of telephone played over thousands of years.
It does say meal prep, maybe he adds the sauce the day he’s gonna eat it. Otherwise it might get extra soggy just sitting there absorbing the sauce. He could also keep various proteins prepped in other containers and he cna just mix and match based on what he’s feeling.
Well, overleaf.com is for LaTeX, but typst.app is for Typst, a superior alternative witch is in beta. So for some people it won’t be enough (yet), but for me it’s awesome.
Whether or not typst is “superior” is largely debatable, but here are some reasons why I personally prefer Typst to LaTeX:
leaner syntax
less boilerplate
(arguably) more intuitive syntax for math and formatting
real-time preview thanks to incremental compilation
automatic package management
Ability to perform calculations/data processing inline inside your document (I know you can do this in LaTeX as well, but typst makes it easier)
However, as Andrew said, it is very much still in beta, so I don’t think it can be a complete replacement for LaTeX. Basically, think of it as something in between LaTeX and Markdown. Less features, but easier to write.
Since for me it has all the needed features, for me — it’s by far superior (even compared to LuaLaTeX which is the last thing I used). But some people, mainly from academia, are still can’t switch due to some features missing. A few people were able to create thesis in Typst (including myself). In the long run it will be 100% superior. In the mean time, there are a few hacks to enable some features that are otherwise not implemented yet.
Which apparently needs an account just to use it and a subscription to use it well. Don’t think something like that can be a lord and saviour over LaTeX.
This is what I though as well when I first looked at their website. But nope, the compiler and LSP are available as fully offline programs under the apache license. But I understand how you’d get confused, their website is strikingly polished for an open-source non-commercial project!
The only thing you’re missing out on if you use the offline version is having the rendered preview update in real time as you type, but you can sort of emulate that feature using their neovim plugin and a really fast PDF viewer like zathura.
The last point: I use MuPDF + entr as zarhura crush as a mf, not usable at all. Some others use typst-preview which can be used in the browser and as a VS Code extension. But I use Neovim btw and the web version lack a few key features. Anyway, I use mupdf+entr+nvim for many months now and it’s more than enough for me.
The web version, for me, is just to share my local project with someone, that’s it.
I've not read PA in ages, and saw that and thought "Oh wow, the new art style looks pretty good!" Then I saw this was from 2012, and decided to see what the art actually looks like nowadays.
What the fuck happened? Tycho looks like Handsome Squidward with encephalitis, and Gabe looks like every Nickelodeon character in the last 20 years merged into one. I'm curious to know what PA fans think about the style these days, since I've not followed it for a long time, myself.
Who is the Tycho you’re referring to? I’m not a basketball guy, or really any sports guy at all. In my book, Tycho is possibly my favorite musician and plays mellow electronic music.
PA refers to Penny Arcade, a gaming culture webcomic that’s run since '98 that’s linked by Corngood up there. Tycho Brahe (besides being a 16th centure Danish astronomer) is name of one of the main characters in the comic as well as the pseudonym of it’s main writer, Jerry Holkins.
OMG ME TOO!!! At the Greek Theater? I’ve seen him 3 times so far. Most recently I saw him at the Lightning in a Bottle festival. It was a sunset on a beautiful day and it was my first real acid trip. It was phenomenal 🤌
Yes, fantastic show! Someone in the crowd yelled something like “Anyone who isn’t excited for Tycho has no clue how good this is going to be” and he was totally right.
I also prefer the 2012 art to the modern style, but if Mike likes to draw the way he does now then good for him. He’s clearly demonstrated his artistic prowess over the years and I’d guess wanted to make his own exaggerated style. It’s definitely instantly recognizable as his
I remember reading it years and years and years ago.
The newest one seems like lazy commentary on things in nerd/gaming news, but maybe it was always like that, lol
Scrolled back a bit from the newest one, and they all seemed to follow the pattern of “Worried Nickelodeon Guy says something that bothers him, Handsome Squidward makes cynical comment about it”.

As far as I know, it was pretty much always like that. My tolerance for that used to be better. Reminds me of CAD in that fashion, a comic that for a bit I actually genuinely liked but as I got older and the author got… weirder… it’s one that I moved away from.
Not that I recall. It turns out that most people have their Xbox in a place that sucks for dribbling a basketball, so I think the correct way to play this game was to move the setup to your garage/patio. :)
Well, an ability to buy stuff for a gun does not exclude the possibility to have an affordable healthcare. US does not have affordable one, but I live in a country with “free” healthcare and it is so shitty that I and my family need to go to private doctors anyway 90% of cases. We need to pay twice: one for the “free” healthcare in taxes and the second time at the private doctor. Admitedly, less fucked up than in US, but this still fucking sucks.
THIS. Sometimes, a silly vending machine in Alabama is just a vending machine in Alabama, not the summation of what you think is wrong with other peoples’ politics.
