The person is in offline mode and has attempted to use a feature that requires an online connection. Maybe a puzzle of the day or vs mode or something. The pop up is saying the feature they want isn’t available in offline mode and is just asking if they want to go online. No asshole design, no software gore. Just a message that’s a little misleading out of context.
Though I don’t know this game so that might all be entirely incorrect and it might just be asshole design. Would be a weird way to phrase it though.
I’m not the original poster either, but it’s the Microsoft Solitaire Collection and I’ve seen my aunt play it. I’ve heard her say that she wasn’t able to play it when her Internet connection was down. I’m not sure what mode she wanted to play, but I definitely know that this game is full of ads and has microtransactions and subscriptions. This is Solitaire, remember.
I’ve been really into watching classic xcom and open xcom extended on Twitch and YouTube these last few months. Love the vibe of the streamers and depth of the game!
Hi there! Looks like you linked to a Lemmy community using a URL instead of its name, which doesn’t work well for people on different instances. Try fixing it like this: !xcom)
That’s the one. I didn’t see another XCOM community on Lemmy yet, so I made this one a couple of weeks ago. It was one of my favorite subs back on reddit, so I’m hoping we can get one started here too.
