I’m in agreement with most in the replies. And the easy solution to both is to just fill your front-page with the good stuff and block stuff. Basically I blocked all news subreddits (except upliftingnews) and followed smaller communities instead of generic ones. Then stopped using All.
One of the wonders of the fediverse is that it doesn’t have all the awful algorithms of Reddit or other social media platforms that are designed to relentlessly attempt to draw you in with increasingly hostile content. That’s not to say there isn’t a lot of negative content out there. There is. But, with Lemmy, or the fediverse more broadly, you have the ability to curate your own feed and an algorithm that will override that doesn’t exist.
I suggest using the “Block” button liberally. I’ve found that works pretty well for me.
Yeah... The times someone dismissed me in World of Warships because my win ratio was too bad... Yeah, I've been playing the game for ages and was very slow to get better at it, so my stats overall are bad, so what?
Besides, it's a game. Go get your self esteem somewhere where it matters, not in a fucking video game...
I feel like all of these are valid concerns to raise and posts to submit. If you’re not interested in the subjects talked about, unsubscribe from the communities or don’t browse in “all”. Apart from that, just brush it off and move on.
