This, but more like from 2010 to 2012. Streaming was only great for a very brief moment imo. It was pretty obvious, pretty early on that every studio wanted to create their own streaming service. It became easier to automate the downloading and have everything located in one spot real fast.
You probably know all of this but here it is anyway. This is a personal question, a desktop is good if you like it. If you want to play with it, you can try different themes, colors, icons, moving the panel from one side to the other, make it float or rounded, give a chance to a global menu, hot corners, Yakuake, different menus, fonts (Nerd fonts are fun BTW)…
I personally like minimal setups with powerful capabilities. I use Plasma too, but I use shortcuts all the time. That means, for example that I don’t use a dock, I use Meta+W (or bottom corners) so I don’t need it at all. Also, no widgets at the desktops (excets for sometimes notes) and only the ones I use at the top bar. Here is my setup if you want to check it out.
If you ask me, I think your desktop looks good, maybe I would make the top panel thinner to be more coherent with the bottom one. If it’s Latte, I would make it get bigger with the mouse. About the apps, I don’t trust Vivaldi or Mega, but I do trust Firefox and Nextcloud. But again, it’s a personal decision.
I’ve never been wealthy enough for it to come up but I’d have some concerns about how sanitary the refrigerator ice machine is anyway. Ah well, I’d probably just use it for whiskey regardless.
Pretty clean, I’ve never cleaned the actual ice making part before, but it’s never looked like it needed it. It’s also fairly sealed up
The collection bucket I’ve cleaned every few months and nothing gross has ever appeared. The dispenser nozzle on the outside gets wiped down regularly
Also you don’t need to be rich to have a fridge with an ice dispenser, they’ve been on basic models since like the 90s and you can find a used working one on FB/CL all the time even for free
Let me clarify, housing in my area is affordable if you split the rent on a cheap lease and cram it in 2 people per bedroom. You get the refrigerator the landlord gives you and hope it still works.
It’s made in the freezer part with it’s own self contained little thing with a replaceable filtration system. Only the tray that holds the completed ice is open to anything, and it’s still in the freezer. So pretty sanitary unless your freezer is disgusting or you never replace the filters.
