When I was in the navy I went to a barcade and decided to buy around 1000 little army men. I managed to hide about 200 of them and I still have buddies telling me they found another.
I heard that on one ship army men were considered good luck, guarding places and keeping the gremlins out of the engines and other important systems. A new officer thought it was silly and told them to take them all down, but he changed his mind after the ship became plagued with a bunch of issues for weeks on end.
Yeah man WTF happened there. I just saw a "deleted by moderator" comment and a shit load of people responding quoting the comment with a bunch of I guess hate speech about LGBT? What the hell were they even talking about lmao
Yeah, sometimes it’s great to nuke some popcorn and just have a good ol’ guilty watch. But this was one of those times where things got so pathetic it felt icky even spectating.
Some redditors just bring the worst of reddit with them when coming to the fediverse, like tracking mud into the house. Some are still recovering, and slowly acclimating to the fact that you don’t have to be an overly defensive, argumentative prick all the time. Some just stay that way because it’s all they know. Some are still learning that every difference of opinion doesn’t have to become a tiresome debate. Some are OK people. Some are just plain assholes.
As a reddit refugee, I’m in that paragraph somewhere. I’m only half joking when I call it PRSD - Post Reddit Stress Disorder.
Is there the same insecurity shown with lgbt/trans with various flags and symbols? I’m not trying to be inflammatory about the morality of either but I see similarities in symbology. One half of culture sees it as normal, the other half sees it as not for them. Both have been persecuted or treated differently at points in history. Just interesting to see it though they are very different in many other ways.
LGBT community generally gets shamed for existing, Christians generally get shamed because they shame others for existing.
Christians have a persecution complex despite being one of the biggest religions in the world and being largely unpersecuted, LGBT groups are actively persecuted throughout the world.
LGBT groups have no choice in being the way they are, Christians do.
LGBT groups show pride to fight actual persecution, Christians use pride to battle make-believe persecution.
I was excited for my birthday because I was gonna finally take the time to finish cleaning/rearranging my bedroom, since I gutted the room and then got sidetracked for two weeks.
Woke up today with some of the worst back pain I’ve ever had. I think I must’ve strained a muscle or something in my sleep, but it hurts to move.
