100%. I use a third party app called Nintype which actually lets you two-thumb swipe type - to my knowledge the only one that has this as a feature. It’s so so much faster than single thumb swiping and peck typing once you get used to it. Sadly it’s been abandoned by the dev, so I’ll be gutted when whatever iOS version decides Nintype is too old and no longer supported
Keyboard69 (the android version of nintype) was wild. I loved the visuals, but the learning curve put me off sadly. I wish the dev had stuck to it, it really was the keyboard of the future, way ahead of its time.
OP, I’m thinking this sounds an awful lot like a support question, because it’s about using Lemmy and Lemmy functionality. See rule #3 in the sidebar. You posted so you probably already have an opinion - why does this question belong in this community?
I’m asking because it seems borderline and I don’t want to remove it purely due to interpretation.
There’s a black owned Calckey instance but it doesn’t federate iirc. I can’t for the life of me remember the name, I think it was @Are0h who mentioned it, you might wanna reach out to him.
I refuse use Facebook and WhatsApp, and yet >95% of this country’s population rely on those things.
It means that practically all of my potential social circle excludes me. Most people don’t care about reasons to not use those things - “after all, everyone is there and I have nothing to hide.”
Most people hardly even know that their phones can send plain sms messages for free, to say nothing of email. If asked to do so, most honestly don’t know how!
Refusing to use Zuckware is costing me a lot of social opportunities.
Big Smoke : I’ll have 2 number nines, a number nine large. A number six with extra dip. A number seven. Two number forty-fives, one with cheese, and a large soda.
MMOs were always my thing. I’m almost glad I don’t know exactly how much time I buried into World of Warcraft back in the day. I haven’t touched it in 15 years and it’s probably still in the lead. I play a fair bit of FFXIV these days but not like I did WoW. Asheron’s Call 2 was a big part of my life for a long time but it’s been offline most of my life.
Among recent games I’ve actively played for years, Rocket League and Minecraft are for sure at the top.
Well Steam says I have 10,500 hours in Dota 2, but if I check the total combined time of every match I’ve played in the past decade+ it’s actually only… 4500 hours.
Fuck me that’s a lot of time and electricity wasted.
