Empire is in decline thanks to its incessant fixation on the Offense industry and refusal to tend to infrastructure, education, or social works, now mix in the steady erosion of critical thinking and literacy skill in this country, coupled with the crippling of any kind of recognizable civics curriculum to allow for principle-less, tribalist “vote my color no matter who no matter the policy platform” philosophies to grip the populace by the throat.
I bought a mini PC and plugged it into the TV. I use a “wireless mini keyboard with trackpad” to control it. My husband and I have been using it for years. Beelink’s mini Ryzen PCs are quite solid in my experience. I have Linux on mine. Firefox with ublock origin. No ads, like ever.
I replaced the drives, installed the newest version of PVE, then restored all of my VMs from local USB backup. I had to reconfigure a number of things such as HDD pass through and other network settings, but in the end the migration was a success.
I was surprised, in a bad way, at how difficult it is to get any VNC running. I tried Ubuntu, Kubuntu, and base Debian, but couldn’t get any VNC working. The closest I got was with Debian, but it gave me a different desktop than what was coming out the video port to my monitor. I’d be interested in hearing if anyone has had better luck with anything.
x11vnc works a dream once you have a systemd service running it on boot, but that rules Wayland out.
You may be able to get similar results by explicitly instructing the others to share display :0, otherwise they default to starting new sessions.
