Honestly, I’m struggling right now. Spent my 20’s waiting for something to happen that never did. Decided to change my life in my 30’s, and while I am a lot happier and more honest with myself in a lot of ways, I have also alienated people who were close to me by adopting new interests that they don’t share.
I try to meet new people, but it’s hard. The ones out socializing tend to be much younger or older than me, and the ones my age are having kids and stuff.
It has been really hard to find a balance between building the life I want to live, and not having changes isolate me to the point of loneliness.
If my wife goes, I may just have to cut everyone off and start fresh, but that terrifies me.
So, with all that, I guess I’m proud that I’m still trying and haven’t just given up completely and moved back in with mom like some of my contemporaries have.

Yeah, but they teach them to do that outside the water, in environments specially made so they have no issue with it. I mean modes of expressive artistry that can be done while under the water, in their natural niche. Think, what can you teach a dolphin that they can take with them back to the wild and maybe teach to younger dolphins?

I’d imagine it’s mostly because of how many players there are. If only 1% of players cheat, and you run into 100 players in a typical session, you’ll likely see a cheater, and if 1,000,000 players are playing, then 10,000 cheaters are playing.
I’m multitasking games right now to help clear out my backlog. I’m getting close to finishing Alan Wake 2 and I just started playing Ys IX. Not quite as good as Ys VIII, but still a lot of fun. I also got distracted by Guild Wars 2 and Loop Hero.

How close are these surrounding towns? What’s the population, particularly for the demographics you would appeal to?
Often, it’s not worthwhile to bring your favorite culture to your home. Just go to the culture where it already exists. Often, these quiet, boring places are populated by people that WANT to live in a place that’s quiet and boring. It doesn’t make much sense for anyone to move there if they don’t.
I didn’t myself, but talked to a colleague recently who set it up for our company. Apparently it was quite tricky to get the various containers set up just right, as they need to communicate with each other but also be user facing and have proper certs and so on. I don’t have any details, but usually this guy is very good at deploying stuff, so if he admits to struggling I know it must be seriously hard.
When obligated to pick one it’d be AutoKey: “a desktop automation utility for Linux and X11.” Relatively and subjectively speaking, without it I feel hampered like crazy while most other software is “just” convenient.
