A long while ago, I used to use kdissert (now semantik) to make all my white papers, from mind map to document, generating latex out, fine tune, and just gorgeous.
Then I was forced to put them in word and hand it off to our graphics design people to put it into InDesign.
I think I’m going to try semantik for more than mind maps again.
Also a good lesson to give up control to others. I and others volunteered to help with the spam problem - in direct messages to him - that went unanswered.
If people offering help and you might be overwhelmed, accept it.
Windows 11 may be the first major version of Windows that I never use on my own personal rig. I’ve used 98, XP, 7, 8/8.1, and 10 throughout my life. But I’ve got no reason to touch 11 when Arch (or fill in with your distro of choice) with KDE exists. It’s just a much better experience.
Shoot, even my daughters share a computer with endeavorOS+KDE installed and they have no problems using it. Windows 11 would refuse to even install on that same machine.
It’s definitely different if you’re getting paid for it. I plan to get into I.T. within the next year or two if I can, so I’m sure I’ll have to get familiar with Windows 11.
I mean, technically I do use Windows 11 daily at work. Gotta be able to order stuff, send emails, and manage my time card. All that is done on a Windows 11 PC. But nobody is paying me to put it on my home PC, so I’m not going to.
No legal issues at all. Worst case they will blackball you from interviewing at that company for a few years, and tell other companies in that industry, or others that work with those recruoters at least, that you’re a flake and try to get you blackballed there too. And that’s going to be incredibly rare and only really happen if you’re an asshole about it or no-call-no-show the interview and waste their time.
Politely decline to continue with them, they’ll probably appreciate that you’re being honest and not wasting their time interviewing you for you to just say no later.
“I’ve decided to pursue other endeavors, thank you for your time”.
Ok, then, just put them on the roof of that castle. That castle, it’s supposed to be red, it’s not, I wouldn’t rule there, shithole castle. Let’s advertise on it, it’s got to be red.
I’m thinking about getting a handheld and putting Chimera or Bazzite on it. It’s gonna replace my main gaming PC (so it needs to support egpu) once it bites it.
A lot of us migrated months ago when the writing was on the wall.
Kbin became my home when I decided to move to a smaller foreign county, and I’m glad it was, because the land of Mastodon was a bit too distant for me. When the Kbin house was burning down, fortunately the next door neighbor, Fedia, was there to take me in and make things feel familiar.
I suppose that’s the whole advantage of the Fediverse. One head of the hydra may get chopped down, but many others can spring out from it.
