SirMaple_ , to selfhosted in Just started hosting Vaultwarden. It's freaking awesome.

I’ve been using it for a few months now and love it. I have it on 2 VMs. 1 at home and 1 on my dedicated server in the cloud.

I have a horribly written script that stops the vaultwarden container on the home VM, it copies the db.sqlite3 files to the VM in the cloud using SCP, copies everything inside the attachments folder using SCP and then starts the container again. I then have the same type of script on the cloud VM that stops the container, grabs the db and attachments from the temp folder and moves them to the correct directories and starts the container.

I only use the instance on the VM at home, the cloud VM is only used if something has happened to the VM at home. I do the same with my netbox instance.

I also don’t expose anything to the internet. Everything is behind WireGuard. I have my phone setup with Tasker to automatically connect the tunnel when my phone disconnects from my home WiFi SSID.

I've had better results searching through the instances themselves because Google doesn't always index the keywords on time. On caveat of this method is that if the instance doesn't have the syncing out the instance where the info is from being propagated, then this trick would not work

cucumacu , to youshouldknow in YSK: Installing a bidet attachment to your toilet is super easy and probably cleaner than using toilet paper.

I got a Tushy classic bidet a year ago. It is amazing! For anyone out there that uses more toilet paper than you think you should, gets a raw bum from wiping, or wants to get three times cleaner, a bidet is for you. I’m a dude, but also my wife loves it. Honestly, one of the best purchases per dollar I have ever made and one that reminds me daily.

If you got poop on your hands, what do you think will get you cleaner? Couple of wipes with toilet paper or rinsing in the sink with water.

Unfortunately there’s probably a large amount of users who simply don’t care.

But that’s okay. What matters is content creators, not content consumers. Anyone with half a gram of decency and self integrity will have realized that they need to take steps to move away from Reddit.

linearchaos , to nostupidquestions in Why is there such a big thing about prescription opioids when the addiction rate in less than 1% for those who have been prescribed for pain?
@linearchaos@lemmy.world avatar

How exactly do they count addictions when someone has an ongoing prescription?

It’s really location dependent. Some places you’ll see the birds in seconds and others never. You’ll need to know the climate, local weather, soil conditions, what else is growing in the area, time of year, etc. to get an accurate answer.

Friendly reminder / public service announcement that those apps often store/share data that can be used against you if you live in a state with strict forced birth laws. Be sure to thoroughly read the privacy policy and if in doubt, go back to a paper calendar. Stay safe.

shufflerofrocks , to youshouldknow in YSK: Installing a bidet attachment to your toilet is super easy and probably cleaner than using toilet paper.

Please God, I beg you all to do this. I mean no disrespect to y’all at all.

I have been using a bidet/health faucet/Jet spray all my life. I was so shocked and disgusted when I found out people in the west used toilet paper 🤢🤢

I’ve used toilet paper a few times in emergencies and I’ve regretted it everytime. The difference between water and paper in cleaning your butt is so vast.

As much as I understand beehaw admin has every right to defedorate with any instance, and I respect and appreciate beehaw admins looking after the community.

However, it seems this instance is no longer for me. I want to see more content by more people. There needs to be a balance of content quantity vs content quality. I personally think that beehaw is leaning too much towards quality for my personal liking.

Is believing in Anarchism illegal in the USA? I don't think so. The only way in the USA to get on a watchlist is to be either a high felony criminal or a terrorist. Neither the CIA nor the FBI have the time and resources to monitor everyone at the same time.

sunaurus , to linux in What's the longest you've stayed on a distribution?

I was on the same distro for ~10 years, roughly 2010-2020, before I got pulled into the “Apple ecosystem”. (Still use Linux on all my servers, though!)

I use(d) Arch, btw 😛
